2015 Poetry Omnibus Competition Opens

2015 marks the ninth consecutive Poetry Omnibus program. This year’s competition is now open for submissions until October 15th.

Selected poems will be “displayed on Capital Transit buses for a full year,” according to Juneau Empire. Poets will also have the opportunity to read their work at a special event. The event’s time and location have yet to be announced.

The competition has two distinct age divisions. Students in grades 5-12 may participate in one category, and adults over 18 years old must submit to the other category. According to submission guidelines, “poems can be on any subject, but must be suitable for public display and not exceed 10 lines.” Read the full submission guidelines and more about the this project, organized by the Juneau Arts and Culture Center and the Canvas Community Art Studio, here.
