Atlanta: The Southern Poetry Anthology Volume V
Texas Review Press‘ fifth volume in The Southern Poetry Anthology series is devoted to Georgia poets. Past volumes include South Carolina, Mississippi, Contemporary Appalachia, and Louisiana. Editors William Wright and Paul Ruffin compiled poetry from more than one hundred Georgia poets in the fifth volume, including former Georgia Poet Laureate David Bottoms, United States Poet Laureate Natasha Trethewey, Leon Stokesbury, Thomas Lux, Kathryn Stripling Byer, Alice Friman, current Georgia Poet Laureate Judson Mitcham, and Stephen Corey among others. Some Atlanta poets in the anthology are Julie E. Bloemeke, Molly Brodak, Travis Denton, Karen Head, Rupert Fike, M. Ayodele Heath, Collin Kelley, Hilary Rogers King, Christopher Martin, Jim May, Sandra Meek, Ginger Murchison, Amy Pence, Chelsea Rathburn, Alice Teeter, Meyme Curtis Tucker, and Dan Veach.
The series has been noted as “one of the most ambitious projects in contemporary Southern letters,” and Volume V will be available soon nationally.
