Book Launch for Geraldine Kim at Pete’s Candy Store

On Friday July 3rd, Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn will host a book launch party to celebrate the release of Geraldine Kim’s Things I’d Let You Do To Me, the latest collection from Recreation League.

Several poets will read in addition to Kim. Readers will include Becca Klaver, a founding editor of the feminist press Switchback Books. Caolan Madden and Marisa Crawford will also read from their work. Madden is finishing her doctorate at Rutgers, where she is writing a dissertation that focuses on “the poetess” in “nineteenth- and twentieth-century women poets,” according to the Facebook event page.  Crawford is founding editor of the feminist website WEIRD SISTER and author of 2010’s The Haunted House from Switchback Books.

Featured reader Geraldine Kim is also the author of Povel, which was published by Fence Books in 2005. The celebration for her latest collection will also feature music by GOLDEN WEST SERVICE.

Pete’s Candy Store is located at 709 Lorimer Street in Brooklyn. The event is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm.
