EARSHOT Seeks New Curator
Peter Bogart Johnson and Nicole Steinberg (pictured above) are searching for a new curator and host for the long-running New York reading series.
Steinberg founded EARSHOT in 2005, and it has been showcasing local MFA writers ever since. The series uniquely provides MFA prose and poetry students an opportunity to read with “upcoming heroes of the lit world,” according to the call for applicants on EARSHOT’s Facebook page.
Peter Bogart Johnson has been hosting the series, but this season will be his last. Therefore, he and Steinberg are searching for a local MFA candidate or recent graduate interested in taking over the 10-year-old series.
In order to apply, interested parties must submit a proposal that describes a “vision” for the series’ future. Applicants should include a description of a potential season, including the names of those they would ask to read and a rationale for the solicitation. In other words, Bogart Johnson and Steinberg hope to see the potential curator’s “taste,” “style” and “dedication.”
The deadline for submission of proposals to firstname.lastname@example.org is July 15th. Read more about the position and the call for proposals here.
