Event at the New School Will Celebrate Paul Violi

An event dedicated to celebrating the life and work of Paul Violi will take place on February 11th in Wollman Hall of Eugene Lang College at the New School in New York City.

Violi, a beloved NYC poet and faculty member in the New School’s MFA writing program, died in 2011. Poets David Lehman, Charles North and Tony Towle will honor Violi by awarding the annual Paul Violi Prize to this year’s recipients. Recipients include Alex Crowley, Justin Sherwood, Alexandra Bennett and Carson Donnelly. All four recipients will read from Violi’s work Paul Violi- Selected Poems 1971-2007, as will North and Towle.
