On Friday December 12th, Mellow Pages will host Bill Lessard, author of #MyAge. The event seeks to explore the concept and function of poetry in the “age of Facebook, Twitter and smartphones,” according to the event’s Facebook page.

#MyAge is a “Twitter poem comprised of micro-poems.” The event will be atypical in that it relies on audience participation. Involved audience members will select prewritten tweets and read them as part of the performance.

Lessard’s poem #MyAge will also be unique, as the version from which Lessard will read will be “site-specific” and created especially for the evening.

Several readers will open the event. Those reading include Bud Smith, Alexandra Wuest, Emily Toder, Josh Medsker and John Deming.

Mellow Pages is located at 56 Bogart St # 1S in Brooklyn, NY.
