Bronx poet sues Oprah for a cool tril
The Houston Chronicle, among other sources, reports that Bronx poet Damon Lloyd Goffe will sue Oprah Winfrey for a perfectly rational $1.2 trillion (which looks like: $1,200,000,000,000). The lawsuit alleges that Winfrey plagiarized an early draft of Goffe’s “A Tome of Poetry” for her web-published book “Pieces of My Soul” — and went on to sell 650 million copies at $20 a piece. Goffe and his lawyers allege that Winfrey confessed to seizing his work in April 2008.
UPDATE: The suit has been dismissed because Goffe never registered the copyright on his poems.
