The second installment of the new Portland poetry series SLEEP will be held tonight at Xhurch–a little white church gone arts and music venue at 4450 NE 20th Street. Arrive at 7:30 for wine, beer, and watermelon.
The event will feature Drew Scott Swenhaugen, co-host of the Bad Blood Reading Series and editor at Poor Claudia; poet and Reed College poetry teacher Jae Choi; and the 2012 Oregon Poet Laureate and Tavern Books Editor, Carl Adamshick. The evening is free but guests are encouraged to donate preloved poetry books to Tavern Books’ mission of increasing the poetry holdings of small libraries and tribal schools throughout the state!
SLEEP, which is co-hosted by Hannah Pass and Elizabeth Pusack, is a roving series and seeks to find unusual ambiences in which to present poems from both new and familiar voices. SLEEP is curious about experimentation and collaboration and are plotting a live studio audience PATV poetry project. The curators welcome ideas at email@example.com.
