NYC/CUNY Chapbook Festival to Kick Off on Tuesday March 31

The NYC/CUNY Chapbook Festival, which honors the chapbook as an art form, will begin its three day celebration on Tuesday March 31st.

The festival includes several panels as well as a chapbook fair. The book fair will be held on Thursday April 2nd from 10am to 7pm. According to the festival’s website, the events celebrate the chapbook “as a medium for alternative and emerging writers and publishers.”

This year’s festival will be the seventh annual, and attendees can expect to see “publishers from around the country, workshops, panels, a chapbook exhibition, and a reading of prize-winning Chapbook Fellows.”

Some publishers we’re particularly excited to see at this year’s festival include Bloof Books, Ugly Duckling Presse, New Directions, Greying Ghost, Flying Object/Factory Hollow Press, Brooklyn Arts Press, Belladonna Collective and Black Lawrence Press.
