Reading List: SwiftKey and The Bard


Though the ideas behind the technology have been around since 2010, there has been a renewed interest in a technology invented by a Ph.D. student at the MIT media lab. The technology, called “Fluency,” is the latest incarnation of the SwiftKey program that J.Nathan Matias designed, which can write supposedly proficient sonnets and other types of poems by being repeatedly exposed to other poems. It has been used to create poems that mirror the writing styles of Shakespeare, Donne and others. Here’s more:
